Lydia Valentine

Inventory Administrator, Started 2008

What made you initially interested to work at Johnson Motors & Johnson Ford? I had previous administration experience with a Chevrolet Dealership in South Carolina, almost 11 years there.

How have you professionally grown over the past 10 years?  Learning to adapt to the constant changes.

In looking back, have you seen many changes over those years? Yes! There have been several! There have been new offices built to accommodate the continuing growing staff and a new Customer Care Department that started out with 1 person growing into a multiple personnel team.

From your perspective, what would you say are Johnson Motors & Johnson Ford’s greatest accomplishments over the years?    The ability to keep an open mind for constant growth.

From your experience, what would you tell someone who is looking to work for Johnson Motors & Johnson Ford?     Keep an open mind to changes and making the most of your abilities.

What is one thing you wish you would have known before starting to work for Johnson Motors & Johnson Ford?  To have been better prepared for the development and expansion of a company.

Please share one memory of a funny situation/scenario that you’ve encountered, thanks to Johnson Motors & Johnson Ford, over the last 10 years. Shortly after Brad Lutz our Human Resource/IT started…. I answered the phone and paged Brad Pitt line 1.  That’s just 1 of too many to count!

Describe what Johnson Motors & Johnson Ford means to you, on a personal level, in 10 words or less. Thankful for the chance to show my dedication and worth.

Is there anything else you would like to share? It is still hard to believe I have been here for 10 years already!

Brad Lutz

HR / IT Manager, Started 2008

What made you initially interested to work at Johnson Motors & Johnson Ford? Was looking for a family-run, locally owned business who cared about their people.

How have you professionally grown over the past 10 years? I’ve had the pleasure of working with many rock stars in the company as we grew from an organization with barely 100 employees to a large group of car dealerships with over 250.

In looking back, have you seen many changes over those years? 4 large-scale renovations, 1 new franchise, new construction, and many, many forward-looking innovations.

From your perspective, what would you say are Johnson Motors & Johnson Ford’s greatest accomplishments over the years? Surviving the 2008 economic downturn with zero negative impacts, weathering GM Bankruptcy and mandated store renovations with grace and humility, and breaking sales and profit records consistently, again and again. It’s not a mistake, it’s a culture of success.

From your experience, what would you tell someone who is looking to work for Johnson Motors & Johnson Ford? Do the work and enjoy the results. It’s that simple!

What is one thing you wish you would have known before starting to work for Johnson Motors & Johnson Ford? I wish I’d joined them earlier! I spent a very long time “tolerating” a career that I thought was fulfilling. I had no idea I could enjoy working as part of a team so much as I do now.

Please share one memory of a funny situation/scenario that you’ve encountered, thanks to Johnson Motors & Johnson Ford, over the last 10 years.   In 10 years with the company, I’ve occupied 10 different office locations. I’m no stranger to relocation!

Ryan Stephens

Sales/Leasing Consultant, Started 2003

What made you initially interested to work at Johnson Motors? A long-term career. I was a Police Officer for a couple of years and met the owner one morning and the rest was history.

How have you professionally grown over the past 15 years? My quality of service and my smile has gotten better.

In looking back, have you seen many changes over those years?  The internet has changed the auto buying experience. The vehicles themselves have changed drastically too. When I started we had note cards to write customers’ information on them. I also have a flip phone too…now smartphones only work in the vehicles!

From your perspective, what would you say are Johnson Motors’s greatest accomplishments over the years? I would say expanding their company (4 dealerships) and helping the local community. Most of all, seeing the repeat customers coming back due to great customer service in the Sales and Service Departments.

From your experience, what would you tell someone who is looking to work for Johnson Motors? It’s a great company to work for. It’s family owned and everyone smiles and says hello. You aren’t just a number here.

What is one thing you wish you would have known before starting to work for Johnson Motors? Nothing.

Please share one memory of a funny situation/scenario that you’ve encountered, thanks to Johnson Motors, over the last 15 years.   I would love to share stories, but these are between my customers and I. Com on in and have a coffee and cookie with me and I might share a few.
